Who is it for ?
The **Emergency First Aid at Work** (EFAW) is a **1-day course** designed for individuals working in **low-risk environments** or smaller workplaces with fewer than 50 employees. This course is ideal for office settings, shops, schools, and other low-hazard work environments, where the likelihood of major injuries is lower, but first aid provision is still required by law.
This course also meets **HSE requirements** under the **Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981**, providing essential skills needed to manage emergencies such as CPR, treating minor injuries, choking, and shock. The EFAW course is a great option for employers needing to meet their legal duty to provide adequate first aid cover without the more in-depth training required for high-risk settings.
EFAW-trained first aiders are equipped to handle the most common workplace incidents, making this course particularly suitable for small businesses or teams where only basic first aid is necessary.
