Qualification:  Regulated 3 Year FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) 3 Year Certification Compliant with EYFS and Ofsted.

 

Audience: Open / In House 

Course Duration: 12 Hours (2 days)

Student numbers: Maximum 12 Learners

Student Age: 14+ (accompanied by a responsible adult)

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider

  • Assess an emergency situation safely 

  • Provide first aid for an infant and a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally

  • Provide first aid for an infant and a child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally

  • Provide first aid for an infant and a child who is choking

  • Provide first aid to an infant and a child with external bleeding

  • Provide first aid to an infant and a child who is suffering from shock

  • Administer first aid to an infant and a child with bites, stings and minor injuries

  • Administer first aid to an infant and a child with a suspected fracture

  • Administer first aid to an infant and a child with head, neck and back injuries

  • Administer first aid to an infant and a child with conditions affecting the eyes, ears and nose

  • Administer emergency first aid to an infant and a child with a chronic medical condition or sudden illness

  • Administer first aid to an infant and a child who is experiencing the effects of extreme heat or cold

  • Administer first aid to an infant and a child who has sustained an electric shock

  • Administer first aid to an infant and a child with burns or scalds

  • Administer first aid to an infant and a child who has been poisoned

  • Administer first aid to an infant and a child with anaphylaxis

  • Complete records relating to illnesses, injuries and emergencies

Who is it for ?

The **Paediatric First Aid** course is a **2-day training** program designed specifically for those who work with infants and young children.

 

This course is ideal for **nursery staff, childminders, teachers**, and anyone caring for children under the age of 8, ensuring they meet the first aid requirements set by **EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage)** and **OFSTED**.

This course provides essential skills to handle a wide range of emergencies involving children, including CPR, choking, severe allergic reactions, asthma, head injuries, and shock. It complies with **Health and Safety Executive (HSE)** guidelines and aligns with the **Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981**, ensuring that first aiders are equipped to handle both minor and major incidents involving children.
